For the first time in nine consecutive quarters, all four indexes tracked by the Center for Exhibition Industry Research in its CEIR Index report – attendance, net square footage, exhibitors and revenues – all were up.
The previous nine quarters of negative growth broke the record, surpassing the seven consecutive quarters between 2001 and 2003.
An increase in attendance usually is the first indication that more positive growth is on the way, and the third quarter saw an increase of 6.6 percent, compared with the same period the year before, according to the CEIR Index.
