Calling out its extensive news coverage in the IT field as well as ease of use, the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) declared CIO.com the best b2b Web site of 2010. Judges applauded the site for the integration of social media reporting into the mix, the easy location of blogs and site resources and the accessibility of video content. CIO.com is produced by IDG subsidiary CXO Media. Honorable mentions in the best site category were EcoHomeMagazine.com, HealthcareITNews.com and TechRepublic.com.
Scores of awards were handed out at the Nov. 17 event. Standouts include Builder Online, which won a Gold award in the best Web Feature Article category for Boyce Thompson’s article on the 20 Healthiest Housing Markets for 2010. Jason Snell of Macworld won a Gold for Original Web Commentary (App Against the World). Modern Physician won a Gold for its E-Newsletter product. Network World’s digital magazine won for General Excellence. And Best Blog–General Excellence was won by Paul McNamara’s Buzzblog at NetworkWorld.com.
