Execs seeking a leadership model might look to Pat McGovern, founder and chairman of International Data Group.
Since launching the Boston-based firm in 1964, he’s expanded it into a giant with $3.2 billion in 2010 sales, publishing over 250 magazines in 100 countries.
Among them: Computerworld, PC World and Macworld.
The company also offers research services to clients worldwide and has 450 websites.
IDG has thrived while rivals have disappeared because McGovern has stuck to a winning approach.
