NEW YORK, NY & FRAMINGHAM, MA –BtoB and IDG–two media companies serving marketers, agencies, technology companies, and consumers—are seeking nominations for superior social media marketing and mobile programs in nine categories. Entries from marketers and agencies are due by January 23 at www.btobonline.com/socialmediaawards. IDG Strategic Marketing Services (SMS) is the lead sponsor for the third consecutive year.
Finalists will be chosen for Best Use of Facebook, Best Use of Twitter, Best Use of LinkedIn, Best Use of Viral Video, Best Corporate Blog, Best Closed Community, and Best Integrated Campaign (across more than one social channel) for tech and non-tech companies. For the first time, the BtoB program includes a Best Use of Mobile category.
BtoB editors will select a winner and runner-up from each category that will be identified online on February 20 and in newsletters and in the March 12 issue of BtoB . The editors will also choose their favorite entries for People’s Choice awards where online voters will select a top tech and non-tech campaign. People’s Choice public voting will run from February 21 to March 7.
All winners, runners-ups, and People’s Choice finalists will be honored at an awards luncheon on March 20 in San Francisco.
Awards Ceremony Part of Full Day Social and Mobile Conference
“This year we’ve moved the awards ceremonies from New York City to San Francisco and built a conference around it,” said Bob Felsenthal, publisher, Crain’s BtoB and Media Business. “Social and mobile are two of the hottest marketing topics that now require a day of presentations and discussions so marketers can make more informed decisions.” BtoB’s Digital Edge Live event and the awards ceremony will be at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. Details on the conference are available at http://www.btobonline.com/conference.
IDG SMS has been helping tech marketers analyze the social web and introduce marketing programs for the past three years. “”Social marketing has moved from experimental to expected for most campaigns in just a few years,” explained Matthew Yorke, president, IDG Strategic Marketing Services and IDG Global Solutions. “We’ve added mobile marketing to the awards program because we anticipate the same rapid adoption for mobile as there has been for social.”
BtoB’s Marketing of and Reporting on Awards Program
BtoB and IDG have agreed to a comprehensive digital and print campaign to promote the 2012 BtoB Social Marketing Awards sponsored by IDG that began last month. BtoB will run a series of ads and promotions in e-mail newsletters, in its website, in BtoB’s Facebook and LinkedIn pages, its Twitter account, and in print issues this winter. IDG promotion will run in Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and IDG Knowledge Hub.
2011 BtoB Social Marketing Awards Rules
