IDC Forecasts Worldwide Semiconductor Revenues Will Grow 4.6% and Reach $315 Billion in 2012

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Semiconductor revenues worldwide will grow 4.6% in 2012 to $315 billion according to the mid-year 2012 update of the Semiconductor Applications Forecaster (SAF) from International Data Corporation (IDC). The SAF also forecasts that semiconductor revenues will grow 6.2% to $335 billion in 2013 and grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8% from 2011-2016, reaching $380 billion in 2016.

Demand from Public Cloud Service Providers and Private Cloud Adopters Will Drive Strong Growth for Full Range of Storage Solutions, According to IDC

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.– Cloud computing will be a key driver of net new IT spending over the next five years as public cloud service providers and the adopters of private cloud environments invest in the supporting infrastructure. According to a new forecast from International Data Corporation (IDC), overall spending by public cloud service providers on storage hardware, software, and professional services will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 23.6% from 2010 to 2015, while enterprise spending on storage for the private cloud will experience a CAGR of 28.9%. By 2015, combined spending for public and private cloud storage will be $22.6 billion worldwide.
