The most popular marketing tactics used by B2B companies are digital, according to [pdf] a survey released in July 2012 by Sagefrog Marketing Group. When asked which of 16 common marketing tactics they use, 94% of B2B marketers pointed to websites, followed by email (76%), social media (68%), and SEO (58%). More traditional tactics such as direct marketing (48%), tradeshows (46%), seminars (44%), and print ads (35%) appeared further down the list, though they are more popular than search engine marketing (30%), webinars (26%), and online ads (25%).

Steve Jobs never had much tolerance for employees who leaked the company’s plans, but on one occasion, it was actually Jobs who came close to blowing the lid off a product, according to a former employee we spoke with. Shortly before Jobs and Apple unveiled the original iPhone at MacWorld in 2007, a group of engineers from the iPhone team went to Jobs’ home to debug a problem with the phone’s WiFi.
At one point while the team was working, a FedEx employee buzzed outside the house to deliver a package to Jobs. ”Steve goes out to meet him because he has to sign for this package, but he’s got the iPhone in one of his hands,” said a former Apple employee was with the iPhone team at the time. “Steve just walks out casually, [hides] the phone behind his back, signs the package, and the FedEx dude marches off.”

Enterprise Sales of Media Tablets Will Account for Approximately 35 Percent of Sales in 2015

STAMFORD, Conn.— Worldwide media tablet sales to end users are forecast to total 118.9 million units in 2012, a 98 percent increase from 2011 sales of 60 million units, according to Gartner, Inc. Apple’s iOS continues to be the dominant media tablet operating system (OS), as it is projected to account for 61.4 percent of worldwide media tablet sales to end users in 2012 (see Table 1).

Analysts Examine the Future of BI During the Gartner Business Intelligence Summit, April 1-3, in Los Angeles

STAMFORD, Conn.– Worldwide business intelligence (BI) platform, analytic applications and performance management (PM) software revenue reached $12.2 billion in 2011, a 16.4 percent increase from 2010 revenue of $10.5 billion, according to Gartner, Inc. The BI, analytics and PM software market was the second-fastest growing sector in the overall worldwide enterprise software market in 2011.
