LinkedIn Will Integrate With The Next Version Of Microsoft Office

LinkedIn announced on its blog this evening that Microsoft will support integration with the social network in the upcoming version of Office. Users will be able to log in with their LinkedIn credentials in Outlook and see profile information like photos and status updates for anyone who emails them. LinkedIn data will also be added to contact cards in Outlook. Microsoft Office is available as a free consumer preview now and is expected to formally launch early next year.

Microsoft reveals ‘magical’ new Office 2013

FRAMINGHAM – Microsoft’s latest version of Office pushes customers toward using cloud-based services that makes the suite of applications available on any device — PC, tablet or phone — and has a user interface tuned to work with the touch-centric Windows 8 operating system. The combination of the new Office with Windows 8 and Microsoft’s SkyDrive cloud storage make an environment that is more productive than the traditional Office, says Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. “Together I think they’re quite magical,” he says.

Microsoft Said to Introduce Office for IPads

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) is preparing to releaseits first-ever version of its Office software for Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s mobile devices this year, according to two people with knowledge of the matter. The software will make the word-processing program Word and spreadsheet-maker Excel available on Apple’s iPad tablets and iPhones, said the people, who requested anonymity because the product hasn’t been made public.
